Upon arriving at the Terminal in Southampton on the 22 December 2024 for our Xmas/New year cruise on the Queen Anne we were told by an Intercruises staff member to wait in a queue outside the terminal, only diamond and above members were allowed inside.
After a 55 minute wait in the freezing cold (December) my wife insisted we be allowed inside due to health issues, we are both in our mid 70s.
Bearing in mind we booked Britannia Club which supposedly gives us priority embarkation.
Inside the the terminal was virtually empty.
We reported this to the Pursers desk but they were not interested.
When onboard we asked the cabin steward for an isotonic pillow (Britannia club perk), he didn’t have a clue what we meant.
Food in the Britannia club dining was unappealing and below standard.
Xmas dinner consisted of 3 pieces of turkey, 1 potato, 3 Brussel sprouts and one sprig of broccoli.
The next table had a full Xmas dinner.
We believe we were penalised because of having a severe food allergy.
New year’s dinner was ruined because the first course was served with shallots, which l am allergic to.
The dining staff were aware of the food allergy.
I had to leave the dining room to take medication.
The waitress just said “Oh s**t” and removed the food, not very professional.
In the Artisan Food Hall we found dirty crockery and utensils on more than one occasion and told staff about this.
Areas of the ship were very cold (Corinthia Lounge and Artisan Food Hall).
Storage space in the room was very limited.
On disembarkation there was no priority.
We had to wait in the overcrowded Golden Lion Pub.
There was no point in paying a lot extra for Britannia Club because we didn’t receive all the benefits.
