This was a disappointing and frustrating experience.
In the first instance the arrangements necessary before embarkation and which were unique to Princess, the requirement to load their Medallion required skills beyond a typical guest.
This was frequently spoken of when on board the ship.
It was impossible for ourselves, or our agents working on our behalf to obtain any appropriate assistance.
An additional lane to take guests had to be opened at the port! Typically in the time preceeding the holiday there would be eager anticipation and excitement, in this case there was stress and frustration.
Once on board the ship we met the disappointment referred to.
We found it difficult to book meal times at sensible times and instead were typically and consistantly offered 5 and 8.30pm.
It was apparent that this was not due to a lack of space in the dining rooms but a lack of serving staff.
It seems that there are simply not enough staff for the number of guests.
All of the staff were very busy and were helpful and friendly throughout the ship and the cruise.
We generally found the quality and quantity of food very disappointing and uninspired, the desert menu remained constant for all of 14 days.
There were features of this ship which would discourage us from sailing with this company again.
The Atrium was poorly equipped to provide for the number of people requiring leisure seating in inclement weather.
It proved to be impossible to find seats during sea days inside, which confined us to our cabin.
The ship’s on-board entertainment was poor in comparison with other cruise liners we have sailed with.
Debarkation (referred to by some “as release”) was poorly supervised and became an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience taking longer than anticipated.
We would not expect to sail with Princess Cruise Lines again.
