Overall it was a very enjoyable cruise.
Iona is a nice ship.
We like big ships but maybe this was just a little too big in that it wasn’t always easy to find a table in Vistas, Horizons and The Quays.
The staff were generally good with the odd exception.
We couldn’t find any fault with our outside cabin 4619, which was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space and a lovely window seat.
The shower was powerful and a perfect temperature.
Our cabin steward Roy was very efficient.
We found the evening meals in the main dining rooms of a very good standard and better than the speciality restaurants that we tried (The Beach House and the Olive Grove) which were perfectly acceptable but not worth the upgrade.
Coral was our favourite dining room .
We also had a very good meal in the Limelight club where we had good entertainment and we thoroughly enjoyed the jazz evening in the 710 Club.
Our main criticism was the lack of availability generally.
We had booked two shows in the Headliner’s theatre which didn’t go ahead and several drinks that were advertised on the menus were unavailable and had been for some time we were told so maybe the drinks menus need updating.
Having cruised twice before with other companies, we did miss having different nationalities on board as it did feel predominately British.
We would sail with P&O again as the ship was very clean and Captain Wesley Dunlop added an extra touch of humour every day.
The ports of call were lovely, especially Olden and Kristiansand,
