We had a very good time on this cruise

The Iona is a huge ship with many facilities.

Over 15 bars and over 15 restaurants.

By far the biggest ship we have traveled on.

Twice around the promenade deck was almost a mile.

The ship was only 46% full so felt very comfortable indeed.

Not sure it would feel quite so comfortable when full, with 5,200 passengers.

The new APP way of booking restaurants and shows took a little getting used to, however in the 4 main evening restaurants you could just turn up and there was always a table available, especially if you didn’t mind sharing.

The specialty restaurants had to be booked in advance to ensure a table.

The ship was still, quite rightly , following Covid rules with masks compulsory when moving indoors and in the theatre.

The biggest draw back was he noise in the cabins when there was a swell.

It creaks constantly throughout the ship.

Apparently as it so large, it has to have flex which results in this noise – if you are light sleeper you are in trouble.

We had a really good holiday but found it a little too large for us – an awful lot of walking involved.

Will probably stick to normal sized ships.
