This was to be our first ever river cruise after 30 plus years of sea cruising, and we had chosen the Blue Danube cruise with Rivera.
We had also splashed out on one of the 4 balcony suites on board, as we are used to having a balcony on sea cruises.
From arriving in the arrivals Hall at Budapest Airport to going through security to go home at the same airport, we were so well looked after.
All excursions were included, and so well organised.
The food was the best we have had on any cruise, and the crew – from the cruise director, Karen, and the captain, all the way down – were wonderful, very friendly, efficient, and welcoming.
I will be honest, our cruise was not completely full and I wonder if I would have liked there to be more passengers than there were.
Our weather was shockingly bad, but we never let it stop us from enjoying every stop – there is always a coffee shop and local delicacy to sample while you dry off.
This was a superb holiday, and we plan to do another river cruise soon.
