We’ve sailed with.
RC for over 26yrs but this trip was a big let down.
Where do we start
We Can’t fault the quality cleanliness and maintenance of the ship ..we can’t fault the staff the food and the entertainment all as usual ..
excellent
But RC must review this run ..
The ports of call are poor ..
apart from Lisbon.
The rest of the ports , I wish we had not bothered getting off and had stayed on the ship.
There’s nothing there of interest and the Shops are utter rubbish .
We looked at undertaking trips with the cruise ship but to honest even these are not appealing and vastly over priced .
It goes to show that other travel agencies away from RC cant or won’t offer excursions from these ports of call
BUT our main concern and that of many many other people on the ship was the amount of very young children allowed to run riot in the bars and in the theatre of a night .
All this went unchecked by parents and staff .
Children in bars after 11.00 .
Screaming and shout whilst the entertainment was on .
On one occasion the entertainer in the main theatre made a comment on stage about a child in the audience throwing a Tantrum during his act …why was this childs parents not asked to remove their infant so that others could enjoy the show ??? Because there was no staff present to witness it
We were told that the comedian on board had an adult only session late on one evening ..
kids were sat in the front row whilst he was on.
There’s an awful lot that we could say about this matter but we’ll leave it there.
The only thing we would say, is that is over the years ,we’ve sailed twice now from Southampton with RC…… on both occasions it’s been a nightmare .
What we witnessed on this cruise we’ve never observed on any other RC ship world wide .
Somebody said it was more like Butlins than RC
A officer informed me … “what do you expect when kids travel free”
Will this stop us cruising with RC ..
definitely not
Will we be travelling from Southampton on this run again definitely not ..
