Our last cruise was on Celebrity Infinity and in a lot of ways, Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas was superior.
The cabin was definitely cleaner and more comfortable.
The staff generally were better.
The ship was nice but the decor was a bit flashy and the entertainment was a bit loud and ‘in your face’.
Due to the size of the ship, you were somewhat subjected to whatever entertainment was on in the main centre part of the ship and it was difficult to escape to somewhere for a slice of peace.
Tables in the Windjammer and on the outside decking areas weren’t always cleared in a timely manner and sometimes it felt slightly more like a ferry than a cruise ship but this is being a bit picky as generally the staff were very friendly and attentive and we did have a lovely time.
We would probably opt for a bigger ship next time but that is just our preference and we would recommend Royal Caribbean if you don’t want anything too formal!
