Good points – very clean, great service from most staff, international passengers, good variety and quality food in Windjammer buffet, great itinerary with some fantastic ports.

Some headline acts very good.

Bad points – poor boarding procedure, evening meals in dining room not great quality or service, all the activities were low-brow – no variety, expensive drinks with service charge added, drinks packages poor value, expensive tours, poor quality pool area and sunbeds.

Missed opportunities for more passive/quieter activities eg, showing films in empty lounges during the day or in the cabin.

Outdoor screen only showed 2 films and was then used for advertising.

Our main grip is that the whole cruise was about up-selling and getting you to spend money.

For example, the port talks were only about which shops were recommended (so the cruise line received their %) no cultural or educational information, and no on-board activities to complement the ports.

Overall we enjoyed the cruise – but probably won’t choose Royal Caribbean again due to their ethos.
