I would score it as 9 out of 10 overall.
The first thing was being collected at our door.
This was a perfect 10 with the driver having phoned the night before to announce himself and confirm the pick up time.
It was a 7 seat Mercedes SUV.
It was very comfortable and a safe and steady driver.
On arrival at Dover, the check in was great.
We were on board in minutes and straight into our cabin.
There was a lunch being provided in the Grill and we went up for a cup of tea and a cake.
All told the ship was beautiful.
She was brand new and the cabin was good.
We had chosen the basic cabin and found that it was good enough for our needs.
The wardrobe was a little awkward but otherwise great.
The little things that have been stopped on P&O like turn down service, chocolates on your pillow, bathrobes, slippers and a cabin steward always available were still in evidence with SAGA.

The itinerary was good and, other than rain in Bergen, we had good weather.
We did our own thing in Stavanger and Skjolden .
In Flam we did our own thing in the morning and an included trip to The Stegastein viewpoint in the afternoon.
Finally, in Bergen we all did the included trip – an introduction to Bergen – and stayed on board, as it was raining, for the rest of the day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

The food was good and we ate in the main dining room for each meal.
There was no fixed dining times nor allocated tables.
On our first night we were taken to table 79 which suited us and so we were down early each night and asked for the same table.
Only on the Captain’s reception night were we beaten to it by others.
On the last night we went to the Italian restaurant.
The menu was disappointing as it could have been more Italian, with only one pasta dish on offer.

The on board entertainment was mediocre.
The players were OK but the productions left a lot to be desired.
The best act was a makeshift one of 2.5 men who were very good singers.
There was a second venue called the Britannia Lounge where we went after dinner for a quiz and to wait until it was time to go to the Playhouse.
Also in the Britannia Lounge the acts put on a second performance, but this was timed to clash with productions in the Playhouse.
You had to choose your entertainment.

The other coffee shops and bar areas were scattered around the ship and were good.
Service was good and, as it was all inclusive, we enjoyed it.
