The ship and cabins are spacious and modern.
The food was good and the crew helpful, friendly and polite.
However, on the 3rd/4th day the ship ran out of draught lager.
This was not a temporary issue with the pumps.
SAGA had failed to ensure adequate supply.
Our query about this with the bar manager, met with the reply that supplying canned or bottled lager met their obligations, and there were no plans to take on a supply of draught lager during the rest of the cruise.
Additionally, we were not at all impressed by the way this was handled as there was no notification or apologies in their Daily Newspaper or displayed on the bars.
On our return we advised SAGA customer services of our discontent, which they dismissed with a most ungracious reply.
This experience, and additional matters in dealing with SAGA, leaves us with the impression that they believe they can do no wrong and you either “do it” the SAGA way or “lump it.”
