This is our second Seabourn cruise.
We had some problems with our first cruise to South America, bad food, drink running out of stock and a few other issues.
The only reason we took this one was to join some friends for 10 days fun.
As an ex travel agent, I see many issues with Seabourn.
Firstly, the good things, friendly staff (most of them) good service in dining rooms, good sommeliers that are experienced.
Captain was friendly and obviously loves his job.
Entertainment was good for a small ship.
Bad points, the ship is getting tired.
It’s not “fine dining” NOR is it “fine wines”.
This is a damn expensive cruise for all inclusive.
They state fine wines, well let me tell you, they are serving plonk, wines that we can buy in supermarkets for less than €10 a bottle.
NOT acceptable.
Drinks in the bars, are not creep our, they are measured,.
This is not a problem for me as I’m not a big drinker.
I couldn’t believe the Eastern European barman couldn’t get my drink right.
It was a Hendricks and tonic.
I’m not fussy but at this level I expect service to be like a trump hotel, believe me it’s NOT.
The gym is good and there are so e free classes.
Overall a big disappointment.
I would rather go down a grade, stay in a better suite and pay for my drinks.
At least I know I would get what I want.
