We have just returned from an 8 day river cruise on the Douro travelling on Viking Helgrim with a two day pre extension in Lisbon staying at the Tivoli Hotel.
The hotel was excellent, very good selection at the buffet breakfast, beautiful room.
The Helgrim was inaugurated in 2019, so to all intents & purposes was new.
Decor, facilities & cabins were beautiful.
Food was superb throughout, and service was perfect.
Bar staff were great fun and there was a great selection of wines on board.
All our trips were very well organised and the guides were extremely knowledgeable and helpful on every level.
Despite the extreme heat they took good care of everyone.
We visited some truly memorable places.
Entertainment is low key but suits those on board.
Viking isn’t cheap but standards are high.
