Cunard has announced a landmark event for 2028, when all four ships in its fleet will come together in Liverpool for the very first time.
On 16 May 2028, Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Anne will unite on the River Mersey, marking a significant moment in the cruise line’s history. The gathering will take place in Liverpool, Cunard’s spiritual home, where the company was founded in 1840, offering a rare opportunity to see the entire fleet together in one location.
The event follows the success of Cunard’s 175th anniversary celebrations in 2015, when three Queens gathered on the Mersey, attracting more than one million spectators. The 2028 occasion is expected to build on that legacy, forming a major highlight in Liverpool’s calendar and drawing visitors from around the world.
Queen Mary 2’s arrival will be particularly notable, marking her first-ever transatlantic crossing from New York directly to Liverpool. It will also be Cunard’s first eastbound transatlantic arrival into the city in more than 60 years.
The Four Queens event will coincide with Liverpool’s celebrations marking 20 years since being named European Capital of Culture, with the city planning a year-long programme of events, including music, maritime and sporting celebrations.
Guests will have the opportunity to be part of the occasion through a selection of specially designed voyages. Queen Mary 2 will sail a transatlantic crossing to Liverpool, while Queen Anne will include the event as part of her Northern Europe season. Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will also take part, arriving in Liverpool as part of their own itineraries to join the gathering on the Mersey.
The event promises to be one of the most memorable moments in Cunard’s modern history, combining maritime heritage with a large-scale celebration in one of the UK’s most iconic waterfront cities.
