MSC World Asia is set to launch in December 2026, becoming the third ship in MSC Cruises‘ innovative World Class. Following MSC World Europa and MSC World America, the new LNG-powered ship will spend her inaugural season in the Mediterranean, bringing new attractions, dining concepts, and design features inspired by Asia.
MSC World Asia will officially begin sailing in December 2026. She is the latest addition to MSC Cruises’ World Class, a generation of cruise ships characterised by their distinctive Y-shaped design, expansive outdoor spaces and impressive choice of onboard experiences.

Unlike sister ship MSC World America, which was created with Caribbean cruising in mind, MSC World Asia will make her debut in the Mediterranean.
From December 2026, guests will be able to experience the ship while exploring some of the region’s most popular destinations. Her winter itineraries will offer seven-night cruises in the Western Mediterranean, with calls including Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.
The Mediterranean will remain MSC World Asia’s home until summer 2027, making her particularly accessible for UK guests looking to combine a new-ship experience with a European holiday.
MSC World Asia may share the foundations of MSC Cruises’ other World Class ships, but she will have an identity of her own.
The ship’s name influences much of the design, with subtle references to Asian culture, landscapes and architecture appearing throughout the onboard spaces.
At the heart of the ship is the World Promenade, an open-air area framed by the World Class’s distinctive Y-shaped aft. Here, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues come together around sweeping views of the sea.
One of MSC World Asia’s most distinctive design features will be a giant dragon sculpture stretching across the ceiling of the World Galleria.
The striking artwork is made from stainless steel and features almost 700 mirrors. Measuring around 12 metres long, it promises to become one of the ship’s most recognisable features and another nod to the Asian influences found throughout the design.
Those looking for something a little more exhilarating should head for the World Promenade.
MSC World Asia will be home to the longest dry slide at sea. The Tree of Life @ The Spiral stretches across 12 decks, taking guests on a twisting journey from Deck 20 down to the World Promenade on Deck 8. This feature is sure to prove popular with guests embarking on family cruises.
As well as providing a rather more exciting alternative to taking the stairs, its design is inspired by trees found in Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay.
MSC World Asia is divided into seven districts, making a ship of this scale easier to navigate while giving each area its own atmosphere.
These include the lively World Promenade and World Galleria, family-focused spaces around The Harbour, and quieter areas designed for adults. The ship will also feature an extensive MSC Yacht Club, offering its familiar ‘ship within a ship’ experience with exclusive dining, lounges and outdoor areas.
Food will play a major role in the onboard experience. Returning MSC Cruises favourites will sit alongside new concepts, including Pan-Asian restaurant Kaito Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar and a new speciality dining venue created specifically for MSC World Asia.
Elsewhere, guests will find familiar venues spanning casual dining, international cuisine and speciality restaurants, alongside a new Venchi chocogelateria in the World Galleria.
Families are particularly well catered for. Doremiland brings together dedicated Baby, Mini, Junior, Young and Teen Clubs, while The Harbour combines family entertainment with outdoor attractions. The ship’s deck plans also reveal an MSC Sportplex, Formula Racer, virtual gaming spaces and high ropes course.
With more than 2,600 cabins and suites, MSC World Asia offers accommodation for virtually every type of traveller.
Options range from Interior and Ocean View cabins to Balcony cabins overlooking either the ocean or the ship’s promenade. There are also numerous Aurea suites, including options with large terraces and private whirlpools.
At the top end is the MSC Yacht Club. Its luxury cruise accommodation includes Interior Suites, Deluxe Suites, Duplex Suites and expansive Owner’s Suites measuring up to 104 square metres, with balconies of up to 65 square metres. Yacht Club guests also benefit from dedicated areas including the Top Sail Lounge, restaurant, sundeck and pool.

MSC World Asia will become the latest LNG-powered ship in MSC Cruises’ fleet.
Liquefied Natural Gas offers environmental benefits compared with conventional marine fuels, including significantly reduced emissions of certain air pollutants. The ship has also been designed to incorporate other technologies to reduce its environmental impact.
These include shore-to-ship power connectivity, which allows the engines to be switched off while connected to compatible electrical supplies in port, along with advanced wastewater treatment systems and technology designed to improve energy efficiency.
MSC World Asia therefore represents not only the next stage of the World Class from a guest perspective, but another step in MSC Cruises’ development of more efficient ships.
There’s plenty to make MSC World Asia stand out when she arrives in December 2026. Her combination of familiar World Class favourites and new experiences means guests who have already sailed aboard MSC World Europa or MSC World America should still find plenty that’s different.
