Norwegian Luna Maiden Voyage Complete
The Norwegian Luna maiden voyage marked another major milestone for Norwegian Cruise Line as the company continues expanding its Prima-class fleet.
The ship’s inaugural transatlantic cruise offered guests the first opportunity to experience Norwegian Luna’s newest attractions and redesigned guest spaces before her arrival in Miami.
Norwegian Luna: Some of the Highlights
Norwegian Luna is one of the newest and largest ships in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, measuring more than 1,056 feet in length and accommodating around 3,550 guests at double occupancy.
As the sister ship to Norwegian Aqua, Norwegian Luna builds on NCL’s Prima Class design with larger outdoor spaces, upgraded entertainment venues and a strong focus on active, experience-led cruising.
One of the ship’s headline attractions is the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide experience that NCL describes as the fastest and longest at sea. The attraction combines high-speed turns with water slide elements, offering something very different from traditional cruise ship waterslides.
Adventure continues throughout the ship with The Drop, NCL’s signature 10-storey freefall slide, alongside The Stadium, an outdoor activity space featuring complimentary games and interactive experiences. Guests can also visit Glow Court, a next-generation digital sports complex that hosts games and activities during the day before transforming into a nightclub and entertainment venue in the evening.
Dining is another major focus on Norwegian Luna, with a wide selection of speciality and included restaurants available across the ship. Guests can expect a mix of returning NCL favourites alongside new dining concepts inspired by global cuisine and immersive entertainment experiences.
Accommodation ranges from modern inside cabins to larger suite experiences within The Haven, NCL’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept. The Haven offers private facilities, dedicated concierge service and premium suites for guests looking for a more luxurious experience at sea.
Public areas throughout Norwegian Luna have also been designed to feel more spacious and connected to the ocean, with expansive promenades, outdoor lounges and infinity-style pool areas helping maximise sea views across the ship.
Entertainment will play a central role on board, with live productions, interactive venues, music performances and late-night experiences all forming part of Norwegian Luna’s inaugural programme.
How Many Ships Does Norwegian Cruise Line Own?
With Norwegian Luna now officially entering service, Norwegian Cruise Line currently operates 20 ships across its global fleet.
The addition of Norwegian Luna forms part of NCL’s continued fleet expansion strategy, with further ships planned in the coming years.
