P&O Cruises and Cunard have announced the introduction of SpaceX’s Starlink, bringing a new era of connectivity to their fleets. With the deployment of this cutting-edge Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, guests can now enjoy an enhanced Wi-Fi experience, allowing for seamless photo and video sharing, movie streaming, and access to other online content at even faster speeds than ever before.

P&O Cruises ships Britannia and Azura have already introduced Starlink to the public spaces on board. The service will be available in both public spaces and cabins on Arvia, Iona, Ventura, Arcadia and Aurora by the end of 2023.

Cunard’s progressive roll-out of Starlink service began in June 2023, marking the beginning of a new era for Cunard Queens. By the end of 2023, public spaces and staterooms on Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, and Queen Elizabeth will offer this game-changing Wi-Fi experience, providing guests with unparalleled connectivity throughout their voyage. The promise of a more reliable connection means that Cunard’s guests can stay effortlessly connected with loved ones back home, share their memorable experiences while sailing the seas, and enjoy uninterrupted access to their favourite online activities.

Even more thrilling is the upcoming launch of Cunard’s newest addition to their fleet, Queen Anne. Set to make her debut in May 2024, this remarkable ship will already be equipped with the Starlink service from the moment guests step on board. Seamlessly blending elegance, luxury, and advanced technology, Queen Anne will serve as a beacon of next-level connectivity, elevating the cruising experience to new heights.

Carnival UK President Paul Ludlow said: “Sharing unforgettable moments with friends and family back at home is an important part of any holiday. Whether it’s uploading a picture of a sunset as you sail away from a newly discovered destination or catching up with the news, live events, or content from home, Starlink will make it even easier for our guests and colleagues to stay connected.”

Starlink Vice-President of Commercial Sales Jonathan Hofeller added: “High-speed internet is critical to our modern lifestyle both at home and when travelling. We’re excited that Cunard guests and crew will benefit from an improved Wi-Fi service on board wherever they are in the world.”
