Initial impressions as we pulled up to the port was the size of the ship as others were docked as we drove in and it dwarfed everything around it, everything as we checked in was slick and i was surprised as expected long queues massive waiting times, moral of the story is enough staff to deal with the amount of people you expect (not like british supermarkets) Impressed with the initial friendliness and service of the staff as this was a total contrast to those received on the flight on the way over, I can only decribe American Airlines as having the worst customer service skills ever experienced, it was refreshing to realise that the airline staff were the total opposite & poles apart from rci staff If you were served at a food/bar/shop and signed for goods the staff member always referred back to you by name.
As we visited various location on ship and tried different activities all the staff were very pleasant and cheerful, My fears over the amount of people onboard and overcrowding were totally unfounded as with the amount of public space and ship design and activities on in different locations you could even walk around without seeing anyone, the amount of lift & stair spaces also means that overcrowding around these areas was limited.
Basically anyone would be suited from early years to even the young at heart, there are facilities to cater for the active or inactive, the childrens facilites are amazing and I would be very surprised if most parents would see much of their children throughout the voyage, On all the ships I have been on and looked round this ship makes them all look basic.
Singles are catered for equally as meetings and social gatherings are organized and passengers we found were generally happy to share the fun experiences together.
Seniors were equally catered for even noting a large party group on board celebrating a pecial birthday.
I even witnessed an elderly lady & gentleman having their faces painted in the boardwalk promenade.
I had never travelled with Royal Caribbean before and on such a large ship, personally I loved every minute and would be happy to recommend this to anyone.
