A Royal Caribbean drinks package can be a good way to save money on your next cruise. If you’re a fan of premium coffees, fine wines and stellar soft drinks, this can be a cost-effective way of making sure you get your fix while out on the ocean waves!

The good news is that whatever your favourite tipple, there’s a Royal Caribbean drinks package that will suit your tastes. We take a look at your different options to help you narrow the field.

What is a Royal Caribbean Drinks Package?

When you buy a Royal Caribbean drinks package, you’re essentially paying for your bar tab up front by choosing from a number of fixed-price options. Every adult of legal drinking age in the same stateroom will need to book the package.

What drinks are free on a Royal Caribbean cruise?

You might be asking what drinks are included on Royal Caribbean – and it’s a fair question if you’re weighing up whether a package is worth your while.

Currently, the free drinks on a Royal Caribbean cruise are:

  • Tap water
  • Tea and coffee
  • Hot chocolate
  • Iced tea
  • Milk
  • Lemonade
  • Flavoured waters
  • Juices (usually only at breakfast)

If you’re happy enough sipping on these drinks throughout the duration of your cruise, then a package might not be worthwhile. However, if you want more variety – and not to worry about who’s racking up a bar bill – then read on.

What different drinks packages will be available on my cruise?

There are currently three, yes THREE, different drinks packages available on your Royal Caribbean cruise. The one you choose will depend on what drinks you’re likely to want on your holiday, and whether it makes more economical sense to buy a package than do pay-as-you-go.

How do I buy a Royal Caribbean drinks package?

You’ve got two options for buying a Royal Caribbean drinks package – do it before you sail, or when you’re on board. If you like to be ultra-prepared for your cruise holiday, all you have to do is head to your online Cruise Planner where you’ll be able to make your purchase. This option is available up to 72 hours before you sail.

Alternatively, if the fear of missing out becomes too much once you’ve stepped on board (we’ve all been there!), then you can book your Royal Caribbean drinks package on board. However, three conditions apply:

  • There must me at least four days of your cruise remaining
  • The drinks package must cover the duration of the cruise – the cost will be pro-rated depending on when you purchase it
  • If you’re buying a Royal Caribbean alcoholic drinks package, you must purchase the same one for all guests of legal drinking age in the same stateroom

And that’s it! Visit any of the onboard bars and they’ll be able to sort your drinks package for you. The drinks will be flowing in no time!
