Sailing from New York in September should have been a pleasant experience, unfortunately a torrential downpour and the lack of supervision by Princess resulted in dry luggage becoming soaked, the luggage was delivered to the cabin after the ship had sailed in a terrible condition.
Clothing wet and in a poor state.
The ship’s answer was to provide tokens for the self-service laundry machines, however, as elite members of Princess Captains Circle, we were able to make use of the onboard laundry service at no cost.
Initial problems over we ventured down to dinner, having asked to join a table of eight, we were a little surprised to be on a table for two.
However, our companions on the adjacent tables were in the same predicament so the conversation flowed.
The ports of call were varied, in both size and quality, Boston and Quebec were the highlights, with much to see and do but Sydney was definitely the low light unless you know who “Ann of Green Gables” was there was very little else to do.
The Royal Princess is 5 years old and heading for a refit, but the crew are friendly and helpful and all in all an enjoyable cruise,
