We have just returned from a Mexico Baja cruise on the Sapphire Princess.
The ship is smaller than the other Princess ships we have sailed on but we actually liked that there were only 1800 passengers.
The service was amazing .
We use to eat in the Vivaldi restaurant each evening served by Emanuelle & Tyrone who were excellent waiters.
Always polite & courteous and the food served beautifully.
Never having to wait very long & dirty plates cleared immediately.
The food was delicious & plentiful .
We have both gained weight as we couldn’t resist some of the gastronomic delights.
The head waiters constantly came around to check everything was in order, especially Ryland, Nathan & Mark & every evening the maitre de came around also.
The buffet had a wide variety of food & was very well presented .
Our cabin was a balcony cabin & was always kept beautifully clean neat & tidy by our cabin steward Henry.
He really excelled in taking care of us, nothing was too much trouble for him.
The cabin was tastefully decorated.
Very comfortable bed, plenty of hanging & drawer space for clothes.
The only negative was the shower was a fixed head.
I prefer a hand held as it is difficult to get a shower without getting your hair wet.
The TV was wall mounted with plenty of choice of movies & tv channels.
The pool areas were very spacious & it was always easy to find a sun lounger on deck.
The pool area had a huge screen TV to watch as well as live band entertainment.
The evening entertainment was excellent.
We liked to watch the shows after diner.
Then we often went a long to the wheelhouse bar where there would be more live music & a dance floor which we enjoyed watching people dance.
The bar man Mohamed was very attentive.
I saw 2 ladies one evening who felt cold & he went & got them a blanket each to keep them warm.
I thought this was really thoughtful & very much appreciated by the 2 ladies.
There is plenty to do on this ship and a wide variety of eating places over seen by Carlos always checking everything is in order.
On board you can do as little or as much as you want.
There is something for everyone .
We have cruised many times with various cruise lines but this cruise really excelled in so many ways.
Especially because of the fantastic staff who have created a very special friendly atmosphere on board.
There were all ages from a baby to 90 year olds.
Without hesitation I can highly recommend Princess cruises for good value, excellent service & a very high standard of cleanliness.
Fantastic entertainment program all day everyday organised by cruise director Fernando.
