Trip was good, with a fair array of different ports on the way.
The ship itself is large, over 4,300 passengers, and it seemed to be near full capacity when we sailed.
Our cabin was fine, spacious and kept clean by our very good cabin steward.
The crew as a whole were polite and very helpful, although there were occasions when there appeared to be a shortage of staff.
The main dining room and the buffet areas were cases in point.
On the negative side, the theatre has a low capacity level for a ship of this size.
Many passengers were turned away, even having arrived 15/20 minutes before the start.
So one had to get there 30/45 minutes before showtime, particularly if the featured artist or show was popular.
My wife and I like to go to the casino for a coule of hours after dinner.
Regretably, smoking is permitted, supposedly in one corner of the room.
However, the ever-efficient airconditioning quickly made the entire place a smoking area.
The stench on occasions was overpowering and repugnant.
I have written to Princess about this a few times, but have never had a response, and nothing changes.
The food overall was mediocre at best.
The only restaurant where we had a meal that we could categorise as good was Alfredo’s, which while not complimentary.
prvided an a la carte menu, which included a 3 course meal for £14.99 per person.
Good value.
We are platinum members of Princess’s loyaly scheme, but after this trip it is doubtful Princess will feature in any of our future plans.
There are better cruise lines elsewhere.
