This was the Sun princess inaugural season and in my opinion still need a lot to sort out.Lets start with the Cabin The first two days the aircon didn’t work I had to pester them ..
The toilet seat was loose and never did get sorted the two weeks i was on board (a small problem but irritating).
Other then that the cabin was perfect..
I didnt like the fact that if you ordered room service you had to pay unless you was on one of the packages .
I was on the princess plus which means i had drinks up to the value of $16 also I had 2 extra meals and specialty sweets the meals consisted of Piza and a meal in the irish Pub.
I never had .
The special desserts was Ice cream yes very nice but one was enough.
I also paid extra for the Reserve collection mini suite, I am not exactly sure what the benefits were But one was we had our own restaurant to go in which meant no queuing and getting your meal quickly.
On this note about food If you are a Vegan or any other food I say allergies you will have problems getting fed My wife is a Vegan if it wasnt for the fact we was in the reserve Collection.
Restaurant she would not have had any variety .
The speciality sweets were no good and when she asked about vegan options it seemed like a problem and in some cases asked to pay extra..
The other thing about extras Princess always wanted that extra Buck (they always did but it seemed more this time) photos trips which are extortionate even shuttle buses to and from the ship you have to pay now.
Entertainment was poor if you was on two or three weeks if you seen it all in the first week then you don’t have to see it again.
The shows we did see (3) were excellent good production.
We Paid extra for Spellbound about £300 in my opinion again a Total Disappointment the food was great the cocktail presentation was very good, They had a couple of acts one lady did coins trick with the slight of hand (which wasnt that slight) The main act did something with cards he was good, WE all dressed up in our finery because it says dress to impress which we did the main act didnt he looked as if he just come out of bed very scruffy which put the downer on it for me straight away he could have been the best magician in the World but all i kept on thinking about was his scruffiness..They had some slides and stuff on the top deck which was closed and has been closed throughout even the shows in the dome there was none ..
Also information was not all that forthcoming Yes you had the news letter telling you what was on and fair enough there was stuff going on but pretty lame.
Egg throwing , Bean throwing and numerous quizzes .I think that sums it up and it might sound bad , Did i enjoy it Yes i did would I go again No i wouldnt.
The ship was huge 4000 folks on baord didnt seem it and if you wanted privacy you could get it..
was the drinks package worth it No think carefully when you decide to get it £50 pp is a quite a lot over two weeks.
Also would i pay extra for the reserve collection suite Yes i would purely for the special Restaurant and the individual service you got .
