Disappointed, regular cruiser with princess
By Mary Connor on 29 May 2018
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

This was my 35th cruise with Princess. If it had been my first I would not be going back. Food was very average, not generally very warm and princess usually is much better. Fillet steaks were tasteless. Salmon very good though. Cabin cleanliness was not usual standard. Remnants from previous occupants in cupboards and under the beds. Late to port, timing changes without notification meaning we missed excursions. The push on spa and other services...

GOOD ITINERARY
By David Asquith on 09 March 2018
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

The itinerary for this South American cruise was very good. Visiting Chile, Falkland Islands, Uruguay and Argentina. We were lucky the weather was good so we could tender into Stanley (not all cruise ships can). The scenery was excellent. The service and the food on board was very good. My biggest complaint was the selection of wines at dinner. On the fifth night of the cruise they had run out of Chilean Merlot, and two...

Disappointing
By Ken Bradley on 13 February 2018
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

Just returned from South American cruise. Whilst the experience was wonderful, that was down to the venues and not the cruise line. Our first time on Princess (and the last) and I’m afraid it does not compare with P & O despite both lines being owned by the same company. Positive points first. The beds were fantastic. We tried ‘free dining’ and were pleased with it. Never had to wait more than 2 or 3...

Really great itinerary. Great flights with BA. Ship and food and service were excellent. This was our sixth cruise and best yet, highlights were: Seeing the Magellanic penguins and sea lions in the Valdes peninsular in Patagonia Falkland Islands 4WD trip to Bluff cove to see Gentoo and King penguins and time in Stanley, exploring. Cruising round Cape Horn. Uahuaia and getting our end of the world certificates and wildlife cruise. Puerto Montt and Lake...

Excellent Baltic Cruise
By Trevor Tripp on 26 June 2017
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

Excellent Baltic Cruise the highlight of which was the two days in St Petersburg. The Crown Princess was in good condition and the staff as helpful as always. Boarding was very quick with plenty of staff checking in. Easy to find our way around the ship as we had been on her sister ship, Emerald Princess in November 2016. We used ship tours for transport into Bruges and Gdansk otherwise we either walked in or...

Emerald Princess – Our First Ever Cruise……
By John Gledhill on 09 October 2016
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

The September cruise to the Canaries from Southampton was our first ever cruise and in addition, this was the first time we had ever gone away with friends. Although we thoroughly researched and considered this significant change of holiday style, naturally we just did not know exactly what we were about to experience. In a nut shell….. It was an absolutely fantastic experience on all counts. Although easy going, we are reasonably particular about our...

Thank you

I would like to thank Bolsover for the lovely gift of a bottle of champagne. It gave us the perfect start to our holiday. My first impression of Emerald Princess was that it lacked the elegance of Queen Victoria or Queen Elizabeth. This feeling was confirmed throughout the holiday, for example plastic plates in The Horizon Court. My husband also missed having a sommelier in the main restaurants. Having said this, we did enjoy ‘Anytime...

Wonderful holiday
By Sharon on 25 September 2016
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

We have just got back from a 14 day cruise. The ship was lovely, plenty of amenities, wonderful food and excellent staff. We had the first four days at sea and I was quite apprehensive, to be honest I love cruising but like to discover new places and see a bit more of the world. I need not have been anxious, there was plenty to do, loads of entertainment, plenty of sun beds, plenty of...

Very disappointing experience
By John on 10 September 2016
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

As a regular cruise customer with the likes of P&O, Royal Caribbean, Cunard, etc. we were looking forward to our first cruise with Princess, on the Emerald Princess in the Western Mediterranean from 20th August to 3rd September. But what a disappointment….. OK, the good points first. The ship was fairly clean, and the cabins well looked after if our steward Elvie was anything to go by. The food in the main was good to...

Downgraded
By George Moorhouse on 27 August 2016
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

We feel after eight cruises with princess that standards, particularly in the restaurants, have been reduced or allowed to slip. Several times we had wine spots on the tablecloth or side plate. Frist course Plates removed and second course served to three out of four of us while the fourth was still eating and having to wait with empty wine glasses. The food was 10-15% less well presented. The song and dance theatre shows were...

A Disappointing Cruise
By Christine Matthews on 27 August 2016
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

We were so looking forward to this cruise although we did not expect brilliant sunshine the overall experience was not good. We have cruised for years and know Princess well but we felt Emerald was not the right ship for this cruise and things were no way as good. The entertainment was ok not good, in fact, I dreaded going into the Theatre as the air conditioning was full on and extremely cold. In fact,...

Overcrowded!

Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

This is our 2nd cruise with Princess and unfortunately I think it may well be the last. Due to job commitments we have to have our holidays during school holiday time so we are aware that it will always be very busy wherever we are but this ship did not have enough staff to cope with all the passengers. There was nowhere to sit to eat breakfast in Horizon Court, we queued for up to...

Back to school?
By Mark Hoyles on 13 August 2016
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

As my wife and I work in education with children we are forced to cruise in the summer holidays, so there is always children on board. This has never been a problem to us before, however our recent cruise on the Emerald Princess was very different. We feel that the ship had far too many children, and this led to subsequent unacceptable behaviour including throwing ice at each other, using the landings for football, playing...

would never book Emerald princess again. EVERY morning we had to walk round and round looking for a seat to have our breakfast in the Horizon buffet, also in the afternoon for lunch or a snack, too many people not enough seats. also on sea days not enough seating inside, maybe because it was Norway and the Arctic and was too cold to sit out side. Never again

Staff really good, destinations excellent, but some reservations: 1) Excursions overpriced and guides of variable quality. 2) Self service dining had insufficient space – after collecting food, often difficult to find a seat. 3) Wifi very slow 4) No served lunch on days when ship was in port. 5) Plumbing unsatisfactory – toilet in stateroom often had bad smell.

Cruise to St. Petersburg
By Thomas Richardson on 04 July 2016
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

The ship was good, no complaints there at all. Unfortunately now all cruise lines are gettering bigger and bigger ships, several docking at a port at the same time, the crowds visiting the sights, especially in St. Petersburg were horrendous. We had ourselves been to St. Petersburg some years ago when, although busy, the crowds were nothing to the large numbers now. But it must have been very disappointing for lots of people who experienced...

14 day western med. cruise – May 14th – 28th

Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

1.By sailing from southampton this allowed many very elderly and disabled british people to enjoy easy embarkation. They were also able to move easily round the ship using their many mobility scooters, walking frames and walking aids. 2. Princess excursions were very expensive for what they were. Coach loads were not co-ordinated so that hundreds of people arrived in the same small places at the same time. The visit to Portofino was the worst. The...

In keeping with most cruise lines cut backs are evident. Lovely ship, great theatre, and good lounges. Excellent pools with plenty of towels. Down side, expensive excursions, 15% gratuities on all drinks, no tea making facilities in cabins and tea made with hot not boiling water.charges for some shuttle buses although paying Select fare.what happened to wine waiters in the dining room is this just Princess lines ? Lots of activity centred around the Piazza...
